Alumni Spotlight: Takeya Miller

Alumni Spotlight: Takeya Miller – Class of 2002

A proud graduate of Dillard University, Class of 2002, Takeya earned a degree in Biology and has built a successful career in healthcare as the Senior Manager of Quality and Compliance for a blood bank laboratory. Since moving to Atlanta a decade ago, she has been a dedicated and active member of the Dillard University National Alumni Association–Atlanta Chapter. Her very first act of service was participating in the HBCU Run/Walk, and since then she has held several leadership roles, including Vice President and Corresponding Secretary. She now continues her commitment to service on the board for Student Relations.
Beyond her chapter, Takeya proudly serves as the Liaison for the Atlanta HBCU Alumni Alliance, an organization that unites graduates of historically Black colleges and universities to support current students and uplift communities. She describes the experience as an amazing opportunity to be part of a larger network of individuals who are deeply invested in both preserving the legacy of HBCUs and preparing the next generation of leaders.
For Takeya, giving back through the Alumni Association is deeply personal. “My years at Dillard were truly the best four years of my life. Dillard poured into me and prepared me to thrive in the real world. I met lifelong friends who have become family. Being part of the Alumni Association brings me joy because it allows me to serve alongside my fellow alum in Atlanta while giving back to the students who are carrying forward the legacy of our illustrious alma mater.”
