Dillard University Atlanta Alumni Chapter Scholarship

Dillard University Atlanta Alumni Chapter awards an academic scholarship to students who reside in the Atlanta Metro area.

Eligibility

The scholarship is available to high school seniors and undergraduate students who plan to in the Atlanta Metro area. An exception for residential status must be approved by the scholarship committee. Documentation of attendance or enrollment at Dillard University Atlanta Alumni Chapter is required.
Scholarship Application

About the Scholarship

  1. The scholarship must be used in the academic year after being awarded.
  2. An applicant may receive a scholarship for a maximum of four years and only applies to undergraduate students.
  3. The scholarship recipient must be enrolled as a full-time student at FSU.
  4. The scholarship amount may vary each year.
  5. Applications should be submitted online between April 1 and May 31st.

Scholarship Requirements

Scholarships are awarded contingent on the following requirements:

An application, official high school transcript, and the Metro Atlanta Alumni Chapter of Dillard University acceptance letter for an incoming freshman and transcript for an enrolled student.

Incoming freshman students and other Metro Atlanta Alumni Chapter of Dillard University students must have a 2.5 or above, on a 4.0 academic system.

Incoming freshman students must submit your Metro Atlanta Alumni Chapter of Dillard University school acceptance letter.

An essay that addresses the question in the application with a minimum of 250-500 words.

Include any extracurricular activities, achievements, and community responsibility in your application.

Deadlines

The application must be submitted between April 1 and May 31st of the current year and recipients will be notified within 30 days after that date.

The form must be completed online and submitted electronically. It can be accessed at Scholarship and then select “Dillard University Atlanta Alumni Chapte Online Scholarship Application.” The instructions for submitting the application are available on the website.

Selection of Recipient

Selection will be made based on the submitted application and academic relevance after a review by the scholarship committee. The application, essay, GPA, academic excellence and references are criteria considered for a competitive award. An application packet, without the requirements listed in the scholarship requirements section, will be considered incomplete and the applicant will be deemed ineligible.

The Metro Atlanta Chapter of the Dillard University National Alumni Association proudly awards the Leshia Heath Smith Scholarship. This scholarship is established in loving memory of Leshia Heath Smith, a devoted Dillard alumna who was actively engaged in the Atlanta Chapter. She transitioned from earth to heaven in July 2014 and will always be remembered for her unwavering commitment and dedication to our local chapter.

The Atlanta Chapter Scholarship Committee carefully reviews all submitted applications and conducts personal interviews before recommending a recipient for the Leshia Heath Smith Scholarship.

This scholarship is awarded to a freshman student who resides in the Metro Atlanta area and is enrolled at Dillard University. Applicants must complete a scholarship application demonstrating strong academic achievement, leadership potential, and active involvement in community service.

Proof of enrollment at Dillard University is required prior to the disbursement of any scholarship fund.
