PURPOSE
• Provide financial assistance to Atlanta area students attending Dillard University.
• Honor the legacy of a Dillard Alumnae who was very active in the Atlanta Chapter.
• Continue the legacy of support offered to Atlanta area students.

ELIGIBILITY
Metro Atlanta students matriculating as Dillard University Freshman must:
• Complete and submit the scholarship application by the deadline, including all
requested documentation. (
In the event no applications are received from
Freshmen, Upper-class students will be allowed to apply. The goal is to award
scholarships each year.)

CRITERIA
• Application must reflect strong academic performance, leadership potential and
community service engagement.
• The scholarship must be used in the academic year in which it is awarded.
• Proof of enrollment as a full-time student at Dillard University.
• Applications should be submitted online between April 1st and May 31st.

SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENT
• Scholarships are awarded contingent on the following requirements:
• An application; essay with a minimum of 250 – 500 words (requested on the
application); official high school transcript.
• Must have a 2.5 GPA or above (based on a 4.0 academic system).
• Metro Atlanta Chapter of Dillard University acceptance letter for incoming freshman
and transcript for enrolled students.
• The form must be submitted electronically. Instructions for submitting the
application are available on the website.

SELECTION OF RECIPIENT
After review by the scholarship committee, selection will be based on the
application and academic revelance of a complete application packet. An
application packet without all the requested requirements will be considered
incomplete and the applicant will be deemed ineligible. The application deadline is
May 31st. Recipients will be notified within 30 days after the deadline.

All applicants must submit an essay addressing one of the three topics below. Essays must be typewritten with a minimum of 250 - 500 words.

A. Arts – In what way(s) has/have the ARTS influenced your life?

B. STEM – Why is a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) education important? What are ways you experience STEM in your everyday life?

C. Social Justice – What do you consider to be the single most important societal problem in the community? How do we overcome this problem? What would be the benefits and consequences of questioning or challenging this societal problem?
